2020 Season

Agatha Christie's
Murder on the Orient Express
Adapted to the stage by Ken Ludwig

Directed by David W. Mitchell

February 7 - March 1, 2020

Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30 PM

Sundays at 3 :00 PM

From the Mistress of Suspense!

All An Act Theatre will be the first theater in Northwestern PA to produce this brand new adaptation of

Agatha Christie's "Murder on the Orient Express" by Ken Ludwig (Lend Me A Tenor)/ A Comedy of Tenors).

Just after midnight, a snowdrift stops the Orient Express in its tracks. The luxurious train is surprisingly full for the time of the year, but by the morning it is one passenger fewer.

An American tycoon lies dead in his compartment, stabbed a dozen times, his door locked from the inside.

Isolated and with a killer in their midst, detective Hercule Poirot must identify the murderer – in case he or she

decides to strike again.

"Agatha Christie is not the bestselling novelist in history for nothing, and Ken Ludwig’s adaptation strikes the

perfect balance of the cerebral and the comic. Get on board – it’s a great ride.” - Houstonian Magazine

Another Country

A Drama by Julian Mitchell

Directed by J. D. Mizikowski

March 20 - April 5, 2020

Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30 PM

Sundays at 3 :00 PM

Another Country is loosely based on the life of the real-life spy Guy Burgess.

Set in an English public school in the early 1930's, where future leaders are being \prepared for their roles in the ruling class. Guy is coming to terms with his sexuality and Tommy is a committed Marxist.

As outsiders, Tommy wants to abolish the whole system of British life; Guy wants a successful career within it.

Upon the discovery that a pupil has hanged himself, the senior boys try to keep the scandal away from both the parents and the outside world.

Bennett pretends nonchalance but is deeply troubled by the suicide, while Judd believes the death is a symptom of the school's oppressive regime.

"Subtle and absorbing." - London Daily Mail.

"A genuinely exciting political play. His acerbic wit finds a perfect match in the precocious self importance of his subjects." - Time Out.

What The Bellhop Saw
A hilarious Comedy by Billy Van Zandt & Jane Milmore

Directed by Chris Bucci

May 8 - May 31, 2020

Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30 PM

Sundays at 3 :00 PM

A nice fellow checks into an expensive suite in New York City's finest hotel, precipitating a fantastic nightmare involving a Salman Rushdie-type author,  an Iranian terrorist, a vile wife from hell, a conniving bellboy, an incompetent F.B.I. agent, a nubile celebrity mad maid, a dimwitted secretary, and a little pig tailed girl.

Gag lines are popping as events transpire at a whirlwind velocity. Topical humor blends with the traditional antics of farce: doors slamming, characters careening and confusion reigning supreme. Including the show stopping silent “Bellhop Ballet.”

"A winner!" - Stage Directions

"The laughs keep on coming!”  -Tribune

“A rip-roaring good time!" - Broadway Stage

**Produced through special arrangement with Samuel French Library, Inc. New York, NY.

A small group of people tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and hefty doses of comic timing.

An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, is employed as the story of Jesus' life dances across the stage.

Jesus' messages of kindness, tolerance and love come vibrantly to life.

Led by the international hit, "Day by Day," Godspell features beloved songs "Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord," ,"All for the Best," "All Good Gifts," "Turn Back, O Man" and "By My Side."
