Think YOUR family is bad???
Meet The Rushers!
In 2006,
All An Act Productions
presented
“The Middles Ages”
by A.R. Gurney. The four person play was a heart-warming and
heart-wrenching romantic comedy about love, marriage, and family
“affairs”.
Barney Rusher is the black sheep of his well-to-do family. Eleanor is
the irresistible woman he loves. The only thing standing in the way of
their happiness besides Barney’s overbearing father and Eleanor’s
controlling mother is Eleanor’s husband… Barney’s little brother.
Barney and Eleanor travel from youth to middle age as they cope with
life’s twists and turns as Barney strives to win back the woman he loves
from the brother he despises. Everyone has problems, it seems Barney’s
are all “relative”.
Their lives touch upon universal
themes : unrequited love, parental approval, unconditional love between
parents and children, aging parents, and the regret of a decision that
changes the course of their lives.
A classic tale of Boy Meets Girl… Girl Marries Boy’s Brother…
BOY LOVES GIRL ANYWAY!
